Colour is Silver Metallic (744) 2 tone and all paintwork is factory original & unmarked. Beautifully finished, this refined road car blends strong performance with solid engineering and luxurious trappings. Much more athletic than its 1980s predecessor, the 500 SL is impressively stable at speed, with a rock-solid bearing that inspires confidence. Comfortable and luxurious, the SL also delivers a sporting feel with commendable road manners, though it’s too heavy to qualify as a genuine sports car, it’s more of a luxury GT 2 + 2 (Although the rear seats are just a token gesture). Sound ergonomics and attention to detail round out the benefits. Above 3000 rpm or so, the V8 engine feels virtually like a runaway freight train. Just a touch on the gas pedal is answered by a gush of power, as the V8-powered SL moves away from a stop with no sense of strain. Passing power is impressive, too. Mercedes-Benz claimed an SL500 could accelerate to 60 mph in a swift 6 seconds. On the down side, fuel economy isn’t a forte.
All versions suffer far less than most convertibles from body quivers on bumpy roads. Handling is characterized by quick response and little body lean. Braking is powerful and fade-free. Engine sounds are nicely muted, but tire roar is noticeable on coarse surfaces. Occupants get plenty of seat travel and a multitude of adjustments, along with good head room. Simple, unobstructed gauges are accompanied by clearly marked controls, and the trunk ranks as adequate for a two-seater. Even though they’re too heavy and bulky to rank as sports cars, precious few automobiles provide open-air motoring with this much comfort, safety, style, and speed.

Specification includes: 48 valve quad camshaft, 322 bhp 5 litre V8, with 4 speed automatic. Aluminium hard top with electric soft top (In new condition) stored beneath. Automatically deployed leather bound roll over bar (MB paid particular attention to safety on this model – it deploys if the car senses an impending roll accident, within 0.3 seconds) Aside from very solid structural integrity, other safety features also include: Dual SRS airbags, ABS, ASR (Automatic Slip Control), power Steering, cruise control, etc.

This Skyline GT-R has had one careful owner since new, has always been garaged and well cared for & has been carefully modified and tweaked by MINE’s (Japan) to produce a stunningly well prepared car for street use. It’s lived an easy life – and available performance has rarely been used. Performance & Power Modifications: Turbos are uprated N1 items from Nismo. These are similar to standard in size, but have uprated steel blades, instead of ceramic & ball bearings so they can withstand greater boost pressures. A complete Tomei metal gasket combination kit incl. 1.2mm head gasket have been fitted to maintain reliability at higher boost levels. Tomei Poncams are also fitted. ECU has been re-programmed by MINE’S (currently running 0.9 bar) to R34 Nur Spec with 8,200 rpm rev limit. An HKS 3rd generation electronic valve controller takes care of boost. An HKS oil cooler is located behind the bumper vents on the nearside, neatly shrouded for maximised cooling & air flow. Exhaust consists of a full MINE’S stainless steel system including equal length large diameter stainless steel front pipe Pro & VX pro stainless steel muffler. An earthing kit is fitted to help maximise spark plug efficiency. These modifications combined enable this GT-R to make a reliable 360 – 400 bhp. There’s a Nismo 320 km/h speedometer (Fitted when original speedo was showing 37,207km) In addition there is also a turbo timer fitted.

Suspension & Handling Modifications: At the front & rear there are iba adjustable strut braces. Suspension has been upgraded recently to Nismo S tune units, ideally suited to sports road & occasional track use. The adjuster knob (Damping) is included with the car’s tool kit. These units are perfectly suited for use on UK & European roads. Also fitted are Cusco pillow-ball camber adjustable rear upper arms, Nismo front upper arms and pillow tension rods.

Cosmetic Modifications: Wheels genuine 2 piece BBS LM (101)’s of 17 x 9.5 + 25 size. It’s notable these rims are unmarked without any pitting, or scratching to the edges – another confirmation of having had a mature owner. BBS matching wheel nuts are also fitted. Ultimate quality nearly new Bridgestone Potenza RE-01 high performance sports tyres of size 245/45/ZR17 are fitted to each corner.

Further Suggested Improvements: Although nothing is needed to improve this car, we would recommend Nismo oil & radiator caps. Note we can also supply a complete set of Nismo bodywork mouldings (Full carbon also available). Note that we can also supply clear front indicators which would enhance this car well! Original factory equipment includes power windows, central locking (with remote control), climate control air conditioning, power steering, ABS, Hicas 4WS, Atessa 4WD, remote controlled door mirrors with retract mode, privacy windows in the rear, rear wiper, etc. An Alpine MD Radio unit is fitted with a 10 Disc CD changer. Carrozzeria uprated speakers are also fitted. Please note that audio equipment is provided with this car – free of charge.

Condition Report: As pictures show, this car’s beautifully preserved. We noticed only 3 minor faults with the interior, which we’ll be putting right. The previous owner had the original steering wheel wrapped in carbon leather and it’s shrunk over time, leaving two unsightly holes where joins were stitched in the leather. We’ll replace this with a perfect condition original leather item. Also, the floor mats were missing when the car came to us. We’ll fit some good condition mats before shipment. Finally, there’s a small (2-3mm) mark on the driver’s seat - this is too small to warrant replacement but is described and shown to provide a complete report.

As you’ll see from photos of the car underneath, it’s very clean there too – with only some light denting to the front jacking points (As on nearly all GT-R R32 – R34 models). Note that there are no stone chips and a complete absence of pin dents and damage on the flanks – from use of this car. From the condition of the bodywork and lack of ageing to the plastic seals, etc, it’s clear – despite modifications, this car wasn’t used hard at all and the car has been garaged most of it’s life. The front lip spoiler’s still in excellent condition, there are no scratches to any of the wheel rims. The rear n/s quarter panel was changed at some point a long time ago due to a light collision. Repair is not visible & paint match & panel gaps are perfect. We found just one small stone chip on the n/s quarter (See picture). This will be professionally touched in before the car leaves Japan.

Test drive of this GT-R and could find absolutely nothing amis. It’s been stunningly well looked after. Boost is 0.85 – 0.9 bar. The car pulls strongly throughout the rev range with a characteristically healthy sound from the engine under load, when it gets to 6,000 rpm it takes on a more agressive note and pulls harder as a result of the uprated turbos & camshafts. Handling, braking, clutch, etc. are all perfect. It drives faultlessly. The suspension is firm, yet dampens bumps with compliant comfort. Engine is especially sweet with oil pressure of 4.0 kg/cm2 when cold and 2.5 kg/cm2 when up to normal operating temperature – this is a sign of a very good, healthy GT-R engine. Oil is relatively clean too having been recently changed with 10W40 Redline synthetic – 1,800km ago in February of this year. There’s no doubt this car has been impeccably looked after.

The cost of all the parts fitted to this car are in the region of £10,000 in all  – without even considering the considerable additional costs of labour to fit!! It’s clear this was a car owned by a man who particularly liked a discreet look to his car combined with high quality.

Being of 1994 this particular example’s one of the very last 222 4v’s made (No 113). It’s been stunningly well looked after, always garaged since new with a dust proof cover, the paintwork looks as good today as when the car left the factory 16 years ago. Not having been driven in rain, the underside’s completely rust free and the engine, transmission, etc. is notably leak free too. The car’s like new and is probably one of the best examples left in existence today.

Mechanical Features: The V6 twin IHI water cooled turbo’d 24 valve engine’s a gem. Equipped with twin air to air intercoolers hidden behind the grille and bumper it makes 280 bhp as standard, at 5,500 bhp. With a dry weight of only 1,313kg, performance is remarkably strong. The sports 4 tail pipe exhaust system barks a menacing idle & will build revs quickly to just over 6,000 before next gear’s selected. This particular example’s been treated to a later model’s Getrag 6 Speed box, to enable effortless high speed cruising. The differential is a factory fitted (Ranger) LSD with a built in cooler. Brakes are powerful, with (vented) discs at the front and rear, along with inboard drums for the emergency brake. Suspension is by McPherson strut at each corner, combined with electronic damping adjustment, on a scale of 1-4 (Standard setting is 2).

Interior is beautifully appointed with a tasteful blend of black leather, grey suede (For dashboard & door inserts, plus the headlining) and walnut veneer. Note this hasn’t been a smoker’s car and always being stored indoors & under cover, the interior hasn’t aged at all. The leather is soft and well cared for and veneers are as new. There are some well thought of design features. For example, the front seats automatically travel forwards when tilted, to give rear seat occupants ease of access. The rear parcel shelf has built in retractable sun blinds and there are reading lights for each of the passengers. The rear seats have 3 belts, but this is really more of a 4 seater, to be comfortable. One of the nicest design features is the dashboard. It’s all leather trimmed – even the instrument surround. This helps provide a real feel of quality, as does the smell of leather as you open the doors. Last, but by no means least – there’s the hallmark Maserati clock, a feature on almost all examples built since Maserati’s 1926 victory in the Targa Florio.

Exterior: It was also on this model that the front received the fresh headlight design, with colour coded surrounding grilles, integrated driving lights in the revised front bumper & colour coded side skirts to compliment the improved design of rear bumper with exhaust pipes and central grille integrated in the centre – which combined gave the car a much fresher look. Note also the factory vented bonnet and windscreen spoiler, which helped improve aerodynamics to keep the windshield wipers on the screen at higher road speeds. On this model wider 16 inch O.Z. Route wheels were introduced with 7J front and 8J rear width, which also gave a wider stance and a further improvement in handling. Note that the rear brakes are quite inboard, which means – if the new owner ever wanted to upgrade the wheels, some quite deep dished rear wheels would fit nicely.

Condition: It’s hard to believe this is a 16 year old car. It’s evident from it’s condition – it’s not had hard use at all, further evidenced by the lack of stone chips on the front bumper and leading edge of the bonnet. It would appear the previous owner enjoyed his Maserati ownership most, by keeping this car in pristine condition. It’s clearly been beautifully maintained regardless of cost – which for an exotic car like this in Japan looked after by Cornes (Official Maserati importer) is hardly inexpensive. The paint work gleams from having been well maintained. Showing no micro-scratches or fading, it’s evident it was washed before being stored away after use. Note how the red paint isn’t faded from ageing at all. The engine bay has none of the usual corrosion and peeling of paint from the engine covers and shows no oil leaks at all. Note that Japanese roads aren’t salted (Except remote mountain areas) – and this car’s got ZERO corrosion. Even the exhausts still have their original Silver & black paint. Interior’s in similarly unmarked condition with no wear to leather, perfect condition veneers and unmarked suede trim and the boot looks to be unused, as are the two foam tire inflation devices which came with this model instead of a spare wheel. Despite having no protective rubbing strips, the sides are completely straight with no pin dents. Even the bumper corners show no sign of ever having been scuffed. All we could find is a small imperfection of paint on the passenger C pillar and some minor stone chips to the underside of the rear bumper and a mostly polished out light line scratch (Not photographable) on the passenger front wing. There are some minor scratches on the wheel edges too. Amazing condition. We’ve never come across an example this tidy – which is why we couldn’t resist having it for stock!

Testing: The only fault we could find on the entire car is the electric antenna not working. This may be a disconnected electric signal from the head unit.
Drives perfectly with good suspension control, excellent braking and powerful performance. No faults at all to report, not even so much as an oil drip!

This car is currently stored (Under cover) in Yokohama and is ready for shipping to any worldwide destination. Being Left Hand Drive it may be of particular interest for Canada (This model was not officially imported there), or for European destinations. It can also be shipped to the UK and supplied fully registered.

Bodywork: This RX-7 has been fitted with an original Polyeurethane plastic 1999+ model’s front bumper, bumper stay, original sidelight & indicator units, front lip spoiler and adjustable original 1999 rear spoiler too. Paintwork quality is superb. Note the bodywork is so immaculate there’s not even a pin dent or ripple to be found. Note the original stone chip coating on the nearside is dirty and has some grime on it. We only noticed this after taking the pictures, but in any case – this is easily cleaned off with polish!

Modifications: All parts fitted are recent and in almost brand new condition: Super Advan Generation II split rim lightweight forged alloy wheels with black spokes and red trim beneath new stainless steel bolts. These have been taken apart for painting, then lovingly re-assembled. A sign of the level of care this car’s had. Tyres are nearly new Yokohama DNA Grand Prix of size 235/40ZR17 front and 255/40ZR17 rear. Exhaust is a Kakimoto Racing Regu 92 Db-Z with a main 80mm section and 100mm tailpipe. As it has a silenced mid section, this is a quiet system – with rac looks. Quality is high, as usual from Kakimoto. Suspension is TEIN Super Street – High quality kit, complete with bottom adjustable ride height – which means you can set this car for soft or hard preload with the same ride height. Suspension is fully adjustable – but currently set to firm, yet supple road settings. Brake pads are Endless CC-X carbon metallic compound – for excellent fade free braking.  The intake tubing and elbow have been replaced with alloy items from Fujita Engineering – RX-7 specialists in Japan.

Interior modifications: An Omori water temp gauge on the A-Pilar, plus an Ultra turbo timer / turbo monitor. Steering wheel is a Momo “Race” item and there’s a Razo carbon and alloy gear knob. Hifi includes a 45W x 4 Alpine head unit with CD / Radio. Please note: Interior electronics are supplied free of charge with this car. Note the original steering wheel and inlet piping are in the boot of the car.

Original equipment includes: Twin oil coolers (best for keeping oil within the safe operating temperature), original lightweight Alcantara sports seats, PAS, E/W, E/M, A/C, 3 channel ABS, original fitted mats. The original tool kit  includes the optional additional tool tray. Note the original lightweight forged alloy wheel and alloy lightweight jack. Mazda went to high levels to make FD3S’s very light! A factory option rear parcel shelf is also fitted. Original documentation shows this car was previously exported, then brought back into Japan by it’s single previous keeper. As part of re-registration, an additional number was stamped on the n/s suspension turret and Japanese documentation amended to show a re-import.

Further Tuning & Improvements: Please note we can also supply other parts to enhance this example. We have new wet carbon fibre front lip spoilers in stock, as well as Fujita Engineering wet carbon side skirts (As fitted to our own demo car). Carbon is preferable to FRP, as it doesn’t stone chip and also looks excellent! Mechanicals and test drive: With a car of such low weight, standard power is plenty with 0-60 in 5 seconds and a top speed of 160 mph. Handling is also amongst the very best available combined with double wishbone alloy suspension design as standard – further enhanced in this case – with TEIN Super street coilover suspension.
The engine is a genuine low mileage unit that has clearly not been tuned or pushed hard during it’s life. Oil has been recently changed and the car shows all signs of having been regularly serviced (Spark plugs are also nearly new). On older RX-7’s the air pumps usually fail, especially on higher mileage examples – this one is not just still working, but is also corrosion free and much like new – just as it should be. Another good sign of a genuine low mileage example.

We test drove this RX-7 thoroughly for handling, acceleration and braking. This RX-7 twin turbo pulls very well indeed – with good idle, etc. Engine and a complete mechanical integrity check was carried out. It drives much like a new car and performance is excellent, once again reminding us of how good these cars are, even as standard. Of course, no smoke on start up and it idles well, giving an excellent spread of power throughout the rev range, with strong power from around 2,500 rpm all the way to the red line. Perfect.

We found 2 minor faults to note which will need repairing as part of full UK OTR preparation at our workshop. The heater fan doesn’t  work. Could be a fuse, we haven’t checked – as it’s unlikely to be a failed motor on a car of such low mileage. Could even be a disconnected switch, if the previous owner removed another hifi before sale. Also, after driving, if reversing and braking hard, there’s a noise from the front o/s suspension. Likely to be something not assembled correctly after fitting the (recent) new TEIN suspension. We will investigate this and repair as part of full OTR preparation.

The interior is in completely original condition. With no significant wear to the seats, steering wheel, pedals or gear knob, these further confirm this car’s genuine mileage. This has been a non smoker’s car and still smells much like new.

Auction Grade is 4 for this car (Auction sheet is available). As pictures will show, the exterior is in superb condition throughout. As with all the cars we stock, to check it thoroughly we washed and checked the bodywork on this car and found only the following TINY faults to report!: One stone chip (touched in already) on the n/s/f wing. One stone chip on the bonnet & one stone chip on the o/s quarter. There’s a light blemish on the o/s quarter too, a result of over zealous polishing - hardly noticable. Finally, the door mirrors have lost their shine. Although we will not respray any of the panels, the 3 minor stone chips will be touched in professionally and the door mirrors resprayed if the full OTR package is chosen below, to present the car ready to drive & fully completed.

This RX-7 has clearly been cherished and hardly used throughout it’s life. Underneath there’s no corrosion – it’s like a new car throughout! It’s rare to find an older RX-7 with such low genuine mileage in the condition shown and the improvements included. Clearly this car has been owned by a fastidious Japanese person & it’s evident it’s been well looked after. As this is not an extremely tuned example, it can be used for daily driving & is also affordable to insure by younger drivers wanting a special looking Rex!

RX-7’s in as beautiful condition as this combined at an affordable price are extremely hard to find, even in Japan. The engine is in fine health with high oil pressure, healthy turbos and perfect starting every time. It’s producing an excellent spread of power - perfectly healthy and with plenty of life to give with mileage this low, before an engine refresh at around 75,000 miles (50,000 miles to go!) For complete peace of mind, a comprehensive 12 month warranty (same cover as with a new car, essentially) will be supplied with this car also covering rotor tips and water seals.

RE-Amemiya Ad Facer II skirts extending to widened rear arches with rear valence extensions are combined with a D-Speed rear wing. The rear light clusters have been changed to 1996 – 2002 types. Wheels are original Volk Racing forged lightweight items of 17″ size, with Bridgestone Potenza RE711 sports tyres of size 235/45/ZR17 front & 265/40/ZR17 rear. The rims are virtually unmarked and as new. As this car’s had little use, the tyres have aged however. Although legal for MOT, they’re harder than when new and a little cracked, so in the interests of safety and enjoyment of this car, we’ll be replacing them with new items of the owner’s choice, up to a value of £380.00 in the UK (Note: Newera Parts can also find other used wheels and tyres such as BBS LM’s in Japan – to fit before shipment).

A large bore RE-Amemiya stainless steel exhaust system is fitted from the catalyst – back. As it’s not a straight through canister type, this is a quieter item, ideal for daily use – yet not restrictive on power. The standard air filter is of a good design (Cold air box). This has been improved with a Mazdaspeed sports panel filter. The ECU is a standard item, running around 0.8 Bar boost. These minor mods combined give around 270 bhp – combined with the exhaust. Inside, a turbo timer is installed with double sided tape to the underside of the plastic trim (driver’s side). This can be re-sited or removed completely if preferred. A Mazdaspeed sports shift kit is fitted, to slightly reduce the throw from each gear change.

White face Mazdaspeed gauges have replaced the original cluster. In July 2000 at 34,076 km, these were fitted and documented. Therefore the currently displayed mileage reads 11,532km. This total of 45,608 km will be recalibrated to show the total distance covered in miles, once the car’s converted in the UK. For a 1992 RX-7,genuine mileage like this is very low. It’s absolutely genuine too, as the engine bay, lack of brake disc & interior wear, etc. serve to confirm.

The interior is unworn, as to be expected of a low mileage car. The interior is in completely original condition. Seats are in good condition with no holes, cigarette burns, etc. Being a non smoker’s car since new, there’s no ashtray. Instead, there’s a useful cubby box with padding, ideally placed for resting the elbow on. In the boot, the carpet is marked with 4 small holes from where a CD changer has previously been fitted. Being an early model, the interior panels are factory painted in matt black and there are some inevitable scratches on these. We can supply a set of later model plastics to go with this car very inexpensively, or better still, why not treat it to a carbon fibre interior trim kit from Mazdaspeed! Auction grade is 4. The exterior has recently been treated to a very high quality respray, to restore the original finish to as new. It’s clear the bodywork beneath is in good condition too, with no wavyness down each side which clearly shows the car was dent free (Well looked after) prior to work being carried out. As red pigment tends to fade over a long period of time in climates with intense strong sunlight & heat, this is the reason the car’s paintwork has been recently restored. It’s amongst the highest quality resprays we’ve come across. As with all the cars we stock, to check it thoroughly we washed and checked the bodywork on this car and found the following faults to report: The front spoiler has some minor scratches beneath the black paint. There is just one pin dent by the radio antenna (which we will try to repair through the service of a specialist when it arrives to our workshops). Both bumpers were unpainted, so these will be resprayed perfectly during preparation. Whilst we’re at it, we will also be replacing all the badges on the car with 1999 spec. items.

Today, the CR-X 1.6i DOHC V-Tec is all too scarce in top condition. UK examples are usually rusty MOT failures with filler and rippled panels, rusty A pilars, arches, etc. or have been worn out through very high mileages and abuse. Even in Japan, where there’s no corrosion in the warmer parts, most CR-X’s have long since passed their best days and are fairly tired, or have been converted into low priced track weapons! If you have ever seen one of these being driven hard on a tight small circuit, you’ll understand why they’re popular for racing use!

This example is the best we have been able to source – ever. It’s been beautifully kept and evidently garaged much of it’s life, but is also completely original aside from the Wed Sports wheels and sports tyres fitted, which suit it well and improve the stance. This example is equipped with a rare and very desirable full glass roof, an option that was only offered in Japan during the 2 years the V-Tec EF8 was in production. It is fitted with some nearly new Wed Sports Racing Wheels of 15″ size with nearly new Bridgestone Potenza Grid II sports tyres of size 205/50-R15

It’s completely rust free – even the original rear silencer and suspension components are original with no rust! It looks as a CR-X would be expected to – if a few years old and carries the rare Japan only Glass roof, as well as optional ALB (ABS) and limited slip differential.  Being of Japanese Spec. – There’s the usual Honda equipment too, including air conditioning, PAS, electric windows, original “CR-X” fitted mats, rear wiper, privacy rear glass, central locking, remote controlled door mirrors with retract mode, etc. Interior is in top condition with no holes on seats, or excessive wear to the leather, etc, as the pictures will demonstrate. It’s been a non smoker’s car from new too! Note there’s a Kenwood DPX 5200 200 watt MD/CD/Radio – this is supplied free of charge with the car.

Auction grade is 4. The paint condition is superb. There are just a few minor faults to report in the form of light pin dents on each door (as shown in pictures), minor scratches to the n/s door mirror, a few very small & light scrathes on the rear spoiler (each less than 1cm long), light scratches around the driver’s door handle – most of which should polish off. On the rear bumper strip, there’s some touch up paint. On the roof, there’s a chromed trim strip aft of the glass roof, whose plastic coating has come away over the years from summer sunshine. This will be easier to strip off completely – and if preferred, spray in matt black.  Each of these items will be repaired if the full UK preparation option is chosen below.

We test drove this CR-X V-Tec and found it drove absolutely faultlessly. Brakes work well, with no signs of warping, gearbox good with synchros intact, handling’s tight and there’s an awesome indiction roar and an intoxicating push in the back as the V-Tec zone is breached from 6,000 rpm. Handling, even with standard suspension, etc. is excellent too. There are no rattles or signs of abuse at all. Engine has also been serviced recently – as shown by clean oil.

This example is equipped with a rare and very desirable full glass roof, an option that was only offered in Japan during the 2 years the V-Tec EF8 was in production. It’s fitted with a Spoon stainless steel 4 branch exhaust manifold, combined with a Spoon V-Tec controller, complete with a knob to control the V-Tec revs, neatly fitted as if factory original. The air filter is an HKS SPF kit. The wheels fitted are unmarked original Versus Cesto – perfectly suited to this style of car. Tyres are sports types of size 195/50R15.

Interior is in excellent condition. The driver’s seat has the usual wear to the vertical PVC & Leather bolster. Repair to look as new is possible through the services of a good upholstery specialist – we can arrange this if preparing the car for completion in UK. Note also the glovebox on the passenger side has a broken hinge. It holds fine when closed, but is loose when open. There’s some wear to the driver’s floor mat. Auction grade is R-A cosmetic grade for this car (Auction sheet available). It’s had a minor and cosmetic front accident in the past and both wings were replaced with new. Panel gaps are perfect also. No structural repair was carried out. Also the headlights were replaced with new – a good thing, as these usually yellow with age anyway. The paint condition is very good. On the passenger door there’s 2-3 pin dents on the upper part. On the lower part there is a rectangular section that has been repainted but match isn’t perfect. There’s some light pin dents on the front n/s wing too. Driver’s door has some paint chips to the edges. Door mirrors have minor scratches. Rear bumper has a minor ding near the centre, where the rubbing strip is. Also, the front lip spoiler and rubbing strip have some minor scratches. Please see pictures on the slide show. All are small faults but described for the purpose of supplying a complete report of the car. Each of these faults we will repair & repaint to high quality – if the option of full preparation in the UK is chosen. Note also we’ll include an oil & filter change as part of UK preparation, since this was last done approx 2,000 miles ago.

The wheels fitted are unmarked original 2 piece RS Watanabes – old skool but perfectly suited to this style of car. Tyres are sports Falken Azenis. Size 195/60R14.

Aesthetic improvements:  The bodykit consists of a genuine Trust Gracer front bumper, side skirts and rear bumper spats with an original Mine’s rear spoiler. Performance Improvements: A large list of Mine’s & HKS tuning parts have been fitted, which in combination provide a tractable and responsive setup that can be used from slow town driving, to very fast Touge / track attack! Turbos are original HKS GT2510’s which provide excellent response and are good for around 550 bhp max. At 1.2 bar the car is making around 450 bhp. These fit using the standard cast Iron manifolds (More reliable against cracking than stainless steel manifolds). In typical Mine’s style the original cold air box is retained with a Mine’s VX high flow panel filter inside. The uprated intercooler is an R type unit, designed for high response & air flow. Injectors are 650cc items. The fuel pump is in tank and has been uprated also. The ECU being employed is a Mines VX ROM, combined with an HKS EVC 3 Boost controller (Low setting is 1.0 bar, high 1.2 bar).
The downpipe is an equal length Mine’s VX Pro with 70mm primaries and 80mm secondary. Exhaust gases pass through a standard catalyst (A cat replacement pipe is supplied free of charge – it’s in the boot with other parts) and into a 304 stainless Silence VX Pro Mine’s muffler which is 90mm main with a 115mm tail pipe. Power is transmitted via a 2 plate clutch kit with lightweight flywheel. This feels quite new judging by how much like standard it feels – very progressive for use in town. We suspect there’s a Nismo clutch slave cylinder fitted, as it’s so smooth to use. Combined with excellent mapping, this is a car that we’ve found docile to use in traffic, as well as for serious acceleration and speed on the open road! Oil pressure’s good and the engine, gearbox, etc. are all in excellent health. Note also that Mine’s has fitted an oil cooler – with the core located behind the bumper on the passenger side. There’s a Mine’s Carbon Cooling panel fitted to aid Radiator performance.

Please note that although the car is mapped for Japanese fuel, it may need adjustment for UK & European fuels. Usually Mine’s VX ROM ECU’s work fine in UK with only some minor retarding of the ignition required. For best results we’d recommend fitment of an Apexi Power FC ECU & Commander. Costs of adjustment mapping would not be included in the OTR price. Newera Developments is able to recommend a tuner to carry out professional mapping to work with UK fuels on the customer’s behalf, We’d recommend changing the strut brace for something thicker (Top Secret, HKS Kansai or Auto Select) and fitting an oil catch tank. Although this car needs nothing added, if wanted, there’s still more things the new owner can do to personalise for his own GT-R perfection (We’re here to help).

Suspension modifications include Ohlins coilovers revalved by Mine’s. Cusco uprated anti-roll bars are also fitted front & rear. Cusco front tension rods for enhanced steering feel & response are also fitted.

Brakes: Brembo BNR34 Gold 4 piston front callipers & 2 piston rear callipers with vented & cross drilled rotors provide excellent stopping power. Pads are uprated to sports compound at each corner. Brake hoses are braided Project Mu items. Fluid has also recently been changed. Braking is excellent.

Standard equipment includes: ABS, Hicas 4 wheel steering, Atessa 4WD, Climate Control A/C, PAS, Central Locking, remote controlled door mirrors, rear wiper, unmarked velour seats, etc. This car has evidently been fastidiously maintained. The engine bay, interior, carpets, indicator stalk, light switch, pedal rubbers, oil pressure etc. – all indicate low wear!

Interior: It’s very rare to find a GT-R of this age with such low genuine mileage. Clearly the last owner wanted to start with an excellent example, when doing all this tuning work!

Interior Condition: The interior is in excellent condition. Modifications are discreet with a Momo steering wheel, the HKS boost controller (Has high boost / scramble mode) and turbo timer. The Speedo is a 320 km/h Mine’s item. We’d recommend retaining this, since modification to read in MPH can cause problems with the HICAS otherwise. This has been a non smoker’s car. There are no faults to report except some wear to the gear lever and handbrake gaiters. We’d recommend replacement with Abflug Alcantara items with “GT-R” embroidery. Very classy – yet inexpensive. Other modifications are also available like a Nismo shift knob, Nismo mats, etc (Available from www.neweraparts.com). Note the light switch, mats, gear lever and handbrake gaiters, door trims, roof lining, etc. are all clean and unworn, in keeping with the low mileage this car’s covered.

Auction Grade is 3.5. This is the grade given for a car which has had no prior accidents. The bodywork is in outstanding condition. In keeping with the low mileage, it’s rust free – with none of the rot often found on the rear arches of BNR32’s or anywhere else. The sill’s jacking points are also not damaged, which is very unusual for an example of this age. Note also how straight the flanks are – no signs of repair at all! All we could find were some very minor stone chips on the alloy bonnet, 2 stone chips on the roof and some paint blemishes on the rear bumper. We will provide a new touch up paint stick with the car. Rear bumper shall be repainted as part of the full OTR price, to provide a mint condition car.

Engine & Test Drive: After careful warming and extensive checks we took this car out to test & can confirm it drives very, very well! It’s got strong power and all signs of a well maintained car. Being uprated, the brakes are also much stronger than standard – affording the sort of stopping power needed for a car of this level of performance. Excellent oil pressure (5kg/cm2 at idle when cold and 2.5kg/m2 when at normal operating temperature) at idle shows this is a strong engine in good health. Clutch feels as if it’s brand new. We test drove this example for around 90 minutes  and found it felt tight and very together. It pulls strongly from just under 3,000 rpm with power climbing all the way through the power range and is making approximately 450 bhp. More power will be available at higher boost / settings – but these should be checked in the UK using det cans, etc. to make sure the engine will always be run safely.

Total cost of modifications & paintwork to this car cost the last owner approx. £15,000 during the last 3-5 years. All signs show this car has been well loved and modifications selected to enhance the performance whilst remaining usable for daily driving, rather than chasing maximum power. Expect this to be a very quick and fun car to drive with perfect poise and instant response!

A GT-R this special, deserved a lot of digging to get all the information relating to the build of this car. Hot Staff are a highly respected tuning company in Kyushu, whose engineering tallents are well known amongst Japan’s elite tuners. They’re also known for creating Japan’s first F20C (S2000) engine & gearboxed AE86’s amongst many other stunning driver’s cars. They’re seriously knowledgeable and experienced engineers as you’ll see from the specification of work detailed -from the build which was completed in summer of 2005, less than 6,000 miles ago:

Comprehensive Engine Spec:

In preparation for the build The head was completely overhauled, skimmed then inlet & exhaust ports were machined (Gas flowed) with the roof section also modified. 2 & 3 angle valve seats were cut, with set length adjustment and brand new oem bronze valve guides & valve spring seats were combined with Tomei A type valve springs, Tomei lifters and shims in preparation for the Trust camshafts of spec: Inlet: 272 (10.5mm lift), Outlet: 280 (10.8 lift) with Greddy vernier cam pulleys.
The block was ultra-sound cleaned and treated to a full race spec. Naprec water jacket modification inclusive of oversized jacket (core) plugs. The block was dummy-head bored, honed and lightly skimmed. A Tomei extended high capacity sump was also fabricated.
A Tomei full counter crankshaft with modified key way and a complete set of bottom end PWR Black Metal Race bearings is mated to Tomei H Section forged conrods, Apexi 87 Forged Pistons. To keep the crankshaft safe for higher rpm, an ATi pulley is employed. Needless to say, components have been plastiguaged, checked and balanced to perfection before putting the engine together carefully. HKS strenghtened bolts have been used throughout with even the flywheel bolts uprated bearing in mind the power and rpm limit this engine’s built to take. Tomei  (1.2mm / 87 bore) head, intake and exhaust metal gaskets have been used and of course there’s a Nismo N1 water and Tomei oil pump fitted. A Trust timing belt with new idler and tensioer were also fitted. Racing plugs used in the build are by Trust. A specially machined PAS bracket was made too and the engine cover was custom chromed with Hot Staff’s ornament plate added to show this is their version: RB27.

Intake to Exhaust:
The turbo’s a modified internal T88-34D with polished compressor housing combined with a Trust 45 bore exhaust manifold. Intake air is sucked through a Trust filter, forced through a Trust R-SPL 3 layer intercooler with custom 100mm diameter alloy piping through a Nismo polished intake plenum. When needed, twin HKS BOV’s dump boost. A Trust Type C high flow wastegate feeds to a 90mm front pipe and via an N3 catalyser adaptor for the enlarged front pipe – feeds into an Apexi Super Catalyser. The exhaust’s a full titanium Ganador system with a main 90 bore section exiting to a 120mm diameter tail.

Fueling & Electronic Control:
To keep fuel smells out of the car, the twin Bosch racing fuel pumps have been mounted beneath the boot floor with an additional Tomei fuel pump. There’s a Nismo surge tank mounted in the boot to avoid fuel starvation and aero grade braided hosing is used. SARD 1000cc injectors are fed via a Tomei type-A fuel pressure regulator and Trust fuel delivery pipe. A Motec ignition expander is combined with a Motec M4 ECU / Advanced data logger / M4 Sensor set and harness / Version Up spec. This M4 hasn’t been locked after mapping – so it can be adjusted in the UK by Owen Developments or the customer’s choice of experienced Motec tuner.  Motec needs no introduction. It’s known to be the best ECU within professional racing circles. Boost is controlled by an ever excellent no nonsense Trust Profec B II unit.

Cooling: 49mm Tabata racing 3 core aluminium radiator with remote air seperator tank, Samco silicone hoses for in / out and heater, an Essential oil catch tank / washer reservoir is fitted and clear hose used. Note the HKS 13 row oil cooler located just behind the vent in the Nismo bumper, complete with alloy shrouding.

This engine was run in on an engine dyno then the ECU set, using Japanese fuel and CDX octane booster where it ran at 1.8 bar boost maximum. For safe road use maximum boost was set to 1.6 bar, which gave 720 bhp at 8,100 rpm with a rev limit of 9000. Torque measured was 71.6kg.m / 7,000 rpm. The settings are currently all stored with Hot Staff, but the ECU has not been password protected, so can be remapped in UK if required for UK fuel.

Clutch & Gearbox: The gearbox has been overhauled with an OS Giken input shaft and 1-3 cross mission (Close ratio). A GTS-4 5th speed is employed to give a relaxed cruising gear, although there’s so much torque above 4,500 rpm that an ATS 1350K carbon triple plate clutch was needed. Original V-Spec diffs are retained with standard gearing.

You’d be forgiven for thinking all the effort and a large pile of wedge had been spent on the engine, but there’s more….!!!!!!!!

Chassis Modifications: Nagisa Auto under supports are fitted in combination with a 15 point Cusco Safety 21 roll cage expertly swathed in uncut black Cusco foam cushioning to make this a super stiff street car. A full array of Nismo suspension components replace the standard items, inclusive of upper & lower rear arms, and upper fronts, tension rods, circuit links,  Quantum RS Street Dampers are fitted mated to Cusco pillow ball upper mounts at the front and an RB adaptor kit. A Titanium Ganador front brace is also fitted. The HICAS system has been deleted using a Nagisa Auto kit.

Wheels, Tyres and Brakes: The most expensive wheels available for a GT-R are fitted, Split Rim 18 x 10 Forged alloy BBS LM’s shod with nothing but the best street tyre currently sold in Japan: 265/35R18 RE-01R’s. If you think the power of the engine will be incredible, you’ll giggle at the sheer retardation available from the middle pedal. STOP!!!!!! – No drama…  Front: AP Racing 6 Piston racing brake setup, Rear: AP Racing 4 Piston racing brake setup.

Interior: Open the doors and immediately you’re struck by the quality of fitment of the cage. They’ve even put fabric tape where feet would usually rub, so the foam won’t be damaged. Note the air purifier on the ceiling – these guys must’ve planned this car for years, whilst building many customer’s cars!!
R34 GT-R seats in perfect condition cosset you perfectly. A Nismo steering boss is mated to a Momo steering wheel with excellent ergonomic feel.
A full set of Nismo’s discreet black gauges inclusive of centre console replaced the low mileage originals as the car was completed. An array of six of Defi’s latest Black Face gauges meet you and perform a celebration salute as you switch on the ignition (Fuel Pressure, Boost, EGT, Water Temp, Oil Temp, Oil Pressure). The engine turns and starts with no drama and the beast springs into life with a rock hard 6-7kg/cm2 oil pressure from cold. Idle is slightly lumpy as to be expected, but livable with. Rev it and it the difference in acoustics from the Titanium exhaust quickly makes it loud and clear this is no ordinary RB engine… We’ll let it warm up whilst we examine the body!

Nismo 400R Bodywork has been expertly fitted and it’s evident the body was completely & entirely stripped inclusive of chemically treating the engine bay to ensure paint would adhere. Nismo 400R arches were then perfectly bonded to the bodywork. Quality is so good that members of the GTR OC examined it and believed these were original steel! There’s also Nismo bumpers, skirts, wet carbon rear blade and spoiler end caps complete with 400R stripes for each side. Note this isn’t a genuine 400R, but something way better that a factory example (Only 33 400R’s were created, so it would be sacrelidge to butcher an original!!!!!!!!!) Bonnet is an original Top Secret item. There’s a set of carbon style mirrors with blue LED marker lights that turn orange when the flashers are employed. Perhaps better replaced with GT-TC style Craft Square Carbon race items or Ganador electric items. Side repeaters should then be uprated to clear, to match with the D speed fronts. Note that even the headlights were upgraded with not just main beam HID, but high beam too. Gotta find out where those headlight trims are made – We’ll be supplying these for sure. Super mean looking GT-R…

It would have been rude not to show up in this car at a Daikoku meet, although it wasn’t us who drove it there.
Needing no introduction, Dino Dalle Carbonare the best JDM photographer had use of it that day to shoot it in a small italian village in the centre of Tokyo…. Many of the (reduced size & sharpness due to compression) photos you’ll see in the slideshow are taken by him of this car to be published in various magazines he’s contracted by from around the world. In time you’ll see his complete writeup on this car no doubt. But if you want his opinion, Check his blog! Unfortunately, he did chip the front lip climbing a ramp which is why on some pictures it shows and on others it doesn’t. A small price to pay for his skills !

Dino mentioned the car was very quick.. We only got to test it on the way back from Daikoku along the Wangan Doro. With 4kg/cm2 showing on the Defi oil pressure gauge the engine was nice and warm. It was obvious it was going to be quick, but nothing prepared us for the onslaught of this beast. Even at 1.2 bar of boost it completely anihilates everything in it’s path. Cruising in 5th, with the low revs you think you’re doing maybe 100 mph. No, the Speedo shows 140 with no effort at all. Boost comes on strong from 4,500 rpm all the way to the 9,000 redline (We only took it to 8,000 not knowing the specs when testing it). Stamp the brakes and giggle… Imagine the sledgehammer retardation on the end of a Bungee rope and you’ll get some idea…Eyepopping but lacking in drama. Brake feel is good, progressive and professional. Did notice the front brake discs start to grumble when they get hot, so would benefit from being replaced. The only mechanical fault, due to wear and tear from track testing. Handling is tight, but well focussed. Well driven, very quickly on empty open roads only something very special will keep up with this anihilator..

It would take a good while to tally up the total cost of making a car this special, but as a rough figure, inclusive of labour costs and the base car (A low mileage R33 V-Spec), around £75,000 worth of work went into this car. Although we know Saurus and other tuners well, we’ve never yet seen and R33 GT-R this well prepared. There’s some minor chips as shown in pictures, which we’ll be repairing (incl. respraying the front bumper). Note there’s some wear to the handbrake gaiter – so this could be replaced.
